Description
Location. The unique Hotel Sanpi Milano, in Milan, Italy, is located three blocks from the Giardini Pubblici and Piazza della Repubblica. The Duomo is 800 metres away and Fiera exhibition centre is within three kilometres, 10 minutes by metro. Porta Venezia metro station is 100 metres away and Linate Airport is six kilometres.
Hotel Features. The Hotel Sanpi Milano was created in 1970 by renovating three 19th century townhouses and a railway station. Terracotta plant pots line the quiet street outside, while inside there is a courtyard garden. Guests enter the marble lobby with fireplace, Turkish rugs, sculptures and contemporary paintings. Services include a 24 hour front desk, multilingual concierge staff and onsite car hire.
The Hotel Sanpi Milano's basement restaurant specialises in traditional Italian dishes for lunch and dinner. Terracotta tiles, floral furnishings and cane chairs decorate the interior. The restaurant also serves a complimentary American breakfast buffet. The white walled lobby bar and lounge has contemporary leather seating, designer sofas and soft lighting. Drinks and light meals are also served on the courtyard terrace.
The hotel has one meeting room for up to 40 people, business centre, wireless Internet access and complimentary newspapers in the lobby.

Getting there. Taxis to central Milan cost about 65 EUR 75 EUR. The Malpensa Express train runs every 30 minutes between the airport's train station and the city centre (Cadorna station). Single tickets are approximately 9 EUR, and journey time is 40 minutes. The Malpensa shuttle bus runs to Stazione Centrale (central station) every 20 minutes. The fare is 4.50 EUR and journey time is 20 minutes. Porta Venezia metro stop is 100 metres away. Shuttle services to other destinations, including Turin and Genova, are also available. Getting around. The hotel is on Via Lazzaro Palazzi, three blocks from Piazza della Repubblica. The city centre is easy to explore on foot, and there are pedestrianised areas around the Duomo. A comprehensive network of trams, buses and four metro lines offers efficient travel throughout the city. Integrated tickets for all modes of public transport can be purchased at newsagents, metro stations, tobacconists and most coffee bars. Driving is not recommended in central Milan, with many one way streets, heavy traffic and limited parking. Cars parked illegally are towed or fined. The hotel has garage parking (surcharge).
