Description
Location. The seven storey Hotel Galles in central Milan, Italy, is located on Piazza Lima by the fashionable shopping street of Corso Buenos Aires. Milan attractions like the Duomo, La Scala theatre and Pinacoteca di Brera are within two kilometres. The hotel is 800 metres from Stazione Centrale (central station) and next to the MM1 Lima metro stop. Milan Linate Airport is seven kilometres away.
Hotel Features. The Hotel Galles' lobby features a marble floor, big screen television and leather couches. Staff at the 24 hour front desk can provide information on local attractions.
The top floor La Terrazza restaurant has sliding doors opening onto a rooftop garden with city views. The restaurant serves authentic Italian cuisine. Getting there. A taxi to central Milan costs about 15 EUR 20 EUR. An airport shuttle bus runs every 30 minutes to Milan's Stazione Centrale (central station). The fare is 3 EUR for a single ticket. The number 73 bus leaves every 10 minutes from outside arrivals and runs to San Babila station on Milan's underground metro system. The hotel's closest metro is Lima. The single fare cost 1 EUR. Single tickets are approximately 9 EUR, and journey time is 40 minutes. The Malpensa shuttle bus runs to Stazione Centrale, 800 metres from the hotel, every 20 minutes. The fare is 4.50 EUR and journey time is 20 minutes. The hotel's closest metro stop is Lima, next door. Shuttle services to other destinations, including Turin and Genova, are also available. Getting around. The hotel is on Piazza Lima in central Milan. The city centre is easy to explore on foot, and there are pedestrianised areas around the Duomo. A comprehensive network of trams, buses and four metro lines offers efficient travel throughout the city. Integrated tickets for all modes of public transport can be purchased at newsagents, metro stations, tobacconists, and most coffee bars. Driving is not recommended in Milan's city centre.
