Description
Location. The Belle Epoque inspired Hotel De la Ville in central Milan, Italy, is within 50 metres of the Duomo and 200 metres of Via Montenapoleone's designer shops. The hotel is 400 metres from the financial district. Milan Linate Airport is 15 kilometres away.
Hotel Features. From a peaceful side street, guests enter the Hotel De la Ville's ornate lobby, which has an elaborate vaulted ceiling, paintings and wood panelled tables. Multilingual concierge and 24 hour front desk staff are on hand.
Traditional Italian cuisine is served at the Hotel De la Ville's a la carte L'Opera restaurant. Dishes include lobster with thyme flavoured chick peas. The wood panelled Il Visconteo Bar in the lobby offers liqueurs, wines and beers, while the relaxed first floor Oyster Bar is open for aperitifs and lunch. A complimentary buffet breakfast is served in the 120 seat breakfast room next to the restaurant.
The hotel has three meeting rooms for up to 80 people, wireless Internet access (surcharge) and complimentary newspapers in the lobby.
On the sixth floor of the hotel is an outdoor decked area, with sun loungers and a 12 metre pool offering underwater music. Guestrooms. The 109 air conditioned guestrooms at the seven storey Hotel De la Ville are decorated with 18th century paintings, cherrywood desks and gilt mirrors. Rooms have wireless Internet access (surcharge), satellite television, minibars and safes. Italian marble bathrooms have bath/shower combinations, complimentary toiletries and slippers.
Expert Tip. The hotel's concierge staff can make reservations at the chic Le Noir restaurant, 30 metres away on Via San Raffaele. Local specialities include Milanese veal.

Getting there. A taxi to central Milan costs about 15 EUR 20 EUR. An airport shuttle bus runs every 30 minutes to Milan's Stazione Centrale (central station). The fare is 3 EUR for a single ticket. The number 73 bus leaves every 10 minutes from outside arrivals and runs to San Babila station on Milan's underground metro system. The fare is 1 EUR for a single ticket. The hotel's closest metro station is Duomo, 50 metres away. Prices are all subject to change.
Getting around. The hotel is on Via Ulrico Hoepli, 50 metres from the Duomo. The city centre is easy to explore on foot, and there are pedestrianised areas around the Duomo. A comprehensive network of trams, buses and four metro lines offers efficient travel throughout the city. Integrated tickets for all modes of public transport can be purchased at newsagents, metro stations, tobacconists and most coffee bars. Driving is not recommended in Milan's city centre. There are many one way streets, traffic is heavy and parking is limited. Cars parked illegally are towed or fined. The hotel offers parking (surcharge).
